Powering EV charging

As the demand for electric vehicles grows, more charging will be required in workplaces, fleet depots and in public places. To charge at scale, there is often a requirement for more power capacity than is available on site. Battery energy storage can provide an alternative option to EV charging load management.

Additional power when you need it

Many sites have connection constraints which mean that they can only access a certain level of power from the grid. It’s a common misconception that a battery energy storage system must be combined with sun or wind generation. In fact, our systems can work on a site to store available power from the grid to help manage the site load and provide flexibility for constrained sites.

On sites without the power required for EV charge points

  • Install EV chargers, or additional charge points on otherwise constrained sites
  • Ensure load requirements do not exceed connection constraints
  • Optional active and reactive load management
  • Draw all power from the battery if required
  • Uses OCCP to actively start a charge with the battery
